Surround yourself with the dreamers and the doers, the believers and the thinkers, but most of all, surround yourself with those who see greatness within you, even when you don’t see it yourself.
I believe Steve Jobs said it best once when he stated something to the effect (yes I’m paraphrasing) “It wasn’t just me, I’m just the figurehead that people feel the need to attribute greatness and success too”. He was a big believer in surrounding himself with exceptional people. If you do that, and push them to deliver their best, then what do you know… they will.
It’s with this spirit that I set out to humbly ask a few select people from whom I trust and respect to become a Board of Advisors for Crowdscriber. Important to me is that these people are entrepreneurs themselves, they believe in what they’re doing, they take the hurts they’ve suffered on their journey down the long path to success and dust themselves off then try harder. As important as their own success is the one other facet I seek in an Advisor: a belief in me.
It’s probably something that doesn’t cross too many people’s minds. Having people in your life who take the time to really understand what your hopes and dreams are, who want you to succeed and who are willing to help you achieve your goals even perhaps at some expense to themselves (time, energy, money) can make the difference between success and failure.
Think about it, you have some great idea, you are executing it and then BAM! some competitor who’s 10x your size comes along and dashes your dream. Not too many people have the resolve to face that, but having a person there who says “look, shake it off and let’s look at this in a different light. I think your idea is better, I think you are better. Don’t give up, just analyze this new competitor and beat them on what they’re not good at”. It’s invaluable.
Meet the Board
So without further adieu, let me present Crowdscriber’s Board of Advisors

John doesn’t settle for second rate. He has a real talent for UX, that is, how best the user should interact with an application. His attention to detail has caused me to burn through many a night “getting it just right” in his role as my client. He’s currently Digital Director at Avenue Inc. in Chicago and entrepreneur in his own startup http://centup.org. If you are looking for a way to monetize your blog and give to charity, go check out Centup.
John will see me get punched and then tell me how to stick and move, he’s a great guy to have in my corner.
Looking forward to working with both Susan and John!
